Your questions answered...

Q: I have only just started to play Badminton, can I join Waverley?

A: We all have to start somewhere and joining a club is definitely something to aim for.  The standard on Waverley's club night is generally high and not suitable for complete beginners, however we work closely with local coaches who can help you.  Allstars Badminton run a variety of sessions and courses for all abilities, email Linda Rapacioli with any questions about coaching.  You could also arrange to visit Waverley on a club night to see the standard for yourself, contact the Club Secretary if this would be of interest.

Q: Where do you play matches?

A: Waverley's home matches are usually played on a Thursday night at Fort Hill Community School, from 19:30.  Match fees are £5.00.  The dates and times for away matches vary depending on the fixture, however your team captain will ensure you have all the details in advance.

Q: Why don't you have a men's team?

A: At the 2014 AGM of the Basingstoke & District Badminton League the men's divisions became 'open' divisions.  This means that open teams can consist of both men and women in any combination - all men, all women, mixed pairings, five men and one woman and so on.

Q: I'm already a member of Badminton England, do I have to pay twice?

A: No, if you are registered with Badminton England this will be taken off your Waverley membership fee for that season.
